Expedition Training Sylan 2019

The vastness, the silence, the mosquitoes, the rushing waterfalls, the moors, rain and cold and the feeling when the sun shines on you at 4 o'clock in the morning - all this is hard to imagine when you arrive in busy Trondheim. This vibrant student town with its typical Norwegian colourful wooden houses, right on the fjord where we always start our expedition course.

And where in the middle of July 2019 nine participants gathered for the expedition course Sylan Mountains. Or rather for the briefing with herring buffet in the old town of Trondheim. What followed, after the transfer picked us up the next morning, were 7 days in the Scandinavian wilderness, cross-country through birch forests, on barren plains, over snowfields and over lakes. Along quiet rivers and through single whitewater passages, for which we dragged our helmets a long way, but the broad grin after whitewater in expedition style rewarded us.
