Anniversary season finale on the Nahe

After an adventurous and, for us, very special 2023 season - our 10th anniversary - our traditional season finale took place on September 23 + 24 at our Nahe base, the Nahe Alsenz Eck campsite. And wow, was it a great weekend!

Like a few times this season, luck was with us and everything was just right: The mood among the more than 50 participants was somehow extra exuberant, the weatherman was kind to us and spoiled us with sunshine during the day in already cool autumnal temperatures, our dinner experiment with a mobile wood-fired pizza oven from the region was a complete - and super tasty - success and the joint paddling session on the Nahe on Saturday afternoon was really fun. Even during the welcome session on Saturday lunchtime, there was a sense that we were in for a special weekend when a few participants from the early days of LWA, who hadn't been with us for years but were still in touch, arrived unexpectedly on the meadow and were immediately embraced by Sebastian.

There was a lot to talk about, a lot to hug and a lot to exchange, but at some point we were on the water and continued the storytelling there. After paddling and pizza, there was a premiere at the campfire evening: Sebastian took everyone present live to the border of the Yukon Territory and Alaska, to the glacier rivers and the bears, and read a very open insight into the stories and anecdotes of this special expedition, supported by some pictures.

As every year, there was a raffle for a good cause with various packrafting and outdoor prizes from LWA and our partners: Anfibio Packrafting Store, Doghammer and Choco del Sol. We are very impressed, because thanks to our participants, we raised more than 600€ in proceeds, which we will donate to a good cause, as we do every year. Thank you for that!

Thanks to everyone who was there, both at the end of the season and at the beautiful and wild (e.g. Alps and Soča in summer) and with the sometimes quite crazy adventures (e.g. Hunsrück special in spring) this season. It was a pleasure and we can't wait for our 11th year on this trip!
