Season finale of the LWA Community 2025

It had been raining for days when we arrived at the site and the puddles were still there, but the weather cleared just in time for the 2025 season finale and in the evening, as the pizzas were roasting in the stone oven, we were bathed in the evening sun. That, together with a fun amount of water in the river Nahe, was the perfect recipe for a successful event.

But that wasn't all it took. I would therefore like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to everyone who took part! From the moment we arrived on Saturday morning, we didn't have enough tasks for all the offers of help with setting up, displaying and generally preparing for the day itself. A special mention must go to Dirk and Kai, who did the whole pizza baking in front of the hot oven, including announcing when the pizzas were ready. Wow!

And, of course, many thanks to my team: the transition from the Soca weeks directly to the end of the season is always logistically tough and was once again full of commitment, for which I am very grateful.

All in all, it was another wonderful, informal and very communal setting that we all enjoyed very much, as far as I could see. We don't want to anticipate the pictures with more text, the gallery speaks louder than words.

And because life and LWA are always changing, we also used the beautiful, familiar setting to announce an important change for LWA: Because with a heavy heart, but for very nice reasons, we are leaving our long-standing LWA base in Neustadt an der Weinstraße and moving to a location we are still looking for, in Dossenheim/Heidelberg am Neckar.

We are grateful for any help in finding a nice new LWA logistics base and have set up a website for this purpose: New LWA home wanted (German only).

To mark the occasion, we have also transformed this year's Christmas market into a farewell party at the LWA base for our LWA community.

We prefer to meet you, our community and all those who will be part of it in the future, on the water, around a campfire or anywhere in the world where we are traveling with a paddle on our backpacks.
